Fundamental sefer regarding the topic of “Ikvesa D’Meshicha”. Authored by R. Shimon Schwab, and published anonymously during the midst of the Holocaust.
R. Shimon Schwab (1908-1995), was born in Frankfurt and after early education in the “Hirschian” educational system, he traveled to Lithuania where he learned in the great Yeshivos of Telz and Mir. Known as an outstanding Talmid Chochom, he served as a Rav upon his return to Germany. Following the rise of Nazism, he immigrated to America accepting a rabbinical post in Baltimore. In 1958, he joined Rav Breuer as Rav of the Khal Adas Jeshurun in Washington Heights, eventually succeeding him in 1982. Tremendously respected, he was an ideologue of Agudas Yisroel, specifically defending the “Torah im Derech Eretz” approach to Jewish life.
With two small corrections seemingly in R. Schwab’s handwriting.
