The Nazi stamp issued specifically for the territory of occupied Tunisia during World War II, 1943

The Nazi stamp with the swastika specially issued for occupied Tunisia during World War II by the Third Reich, Tunis 1943, 5 Feldpost. Very rare.

In November 1942, Tunisia was conquered by the Germans, with the withdrawal of the Rommel army from Libya after its defeat in the al-Alamein battle. The stamp was issued about six months later in April 1943 as part of the Germans' attempt to establish their rule in the daily life of North African Jews. Due to difficulties in the campaign against the British the stamp was issued in a small and unordered quantity, and in fact hardly used. [Unknown envelopes sent with this stamp]. Only a month after the stamp was issued, in May 1943 Tunisia was released by the Allies, and in fact the stamps aimed at exercising the Third Reich's rule among the population - ceased to exist, hence their rarity.

Condition: MINT.
