Military encyclopedia. Volume IV. B (Blanc) powder Bomb.
Petersburg. T-vo I. D. Sytina. 1911, pp. 320 - 640, 9. Hard semi-leather binding, 18.5 x 27 cm. Excellent condition, stamp, slight scuffing of the binding.

Sytin's military encyclopedia is a common unofficial name for the multi-volume "Military encyclopedia" published by Ivan Dmitrievich Sytin in 1911-1915 and eventually left unfinished, edited by Colonel of the General staff V. F. Novitsky. Due to the First world war and the subsequent October revolution, the publication was not completed; a total of 18 volumes were published, the last word of the 18th volume-Port Arthur.
One of the inserts in volume 18 contains several portraits that were intended for volume nineteen, with the specific pages under the portraits where these articles were to be placed; this suggests that volume 19 was not only written, but already folded.
Each volume was accompanied by a large number of diagrams, geographical and topographic maps, plans, portraits and drawings included in the main text, and located on the inserts. SP
