KAMANIN, Alexander Mikhailovich (1905–1989) Painter, graphic artist. He painted mainly industrial and lyrical landscapes. the successor of the traditions of the realistic school of painting. Master of winter and spring landscapes. Volga is the vicinity of the artist’s small homeland (Chkalovsk) are favorite plots in his pictures. Born in with. Vasilevo, Nizhny Novgorod province (now the city of Chkalovsk), lived and died in Gorky-Nizhny Novgorod. Brother of the Moscow artist S.M. Kamanina. He studied at the private Krasnoye Sormovo Art Studio in Nizhny Novgorod in the early 1930s with L.A. Khnygina, N.I. Fadeeva, V.L. Martynova and V.I. Chuprunova. Veteran of World War II. After the war he entered the Moscow State Art Institute. IN AND. Surikov, where he studied with P.P. Sokolova-Skalya, F.P. Reshetnikova and V.G. Tsyplakova. Member of the Union of Artists of the USSR (1936) and Chairman of the Board of the Gorky Organization of the Union of Artists of the RSFSR (1946–1960). Since 1935, a participant in republican, all-Union and foreign exhibitions. 7 personal exhibitions have passed. His paintings are dedicated to the central room of the exhibition hall to them. V.P.
