Three Broadsides – The Assassination of Yosef Davidesko by the Lehi / Denouncing the Lehi
Three broadsides issued by or denouncing the Lehi. [ca. 1945].
1. "Announcement" by Lochamei Cherut Israel, Elul 1945. "Yosef Davidesko, a British intelligence officer since 1917 until the day he died, an informer who handed over Jewish fighters to the secret police. Was shot to death in his home in Zichron Yaakov" (Hebrew). Davidesko, an ex-member of the Nili underground organization, had been in contact with the Jewish underground organizations during the British Mandate and was accused of being a "double agent".
2. "To the members of the Yishuv" (Hebrew), a broadside issued by "Ne'emanei HaMoledet" (the Loyalists of the Homeland), [ca. mid-1940s]. "The Hebrew Yishuv will not accept 'Jewish murderers' who declare themselves fighters for the freedom of Israel walking amongst it" (Hebrew).
3. "Why do we rule out acts of terrorism?" (Hebrew) – a broadside issued on behalf of "the Zionist Movement, Hebrew public opinion and all the volunteers among the people" (Hebrew) denouncing those responsible for acts of sabotage and murder. [ca. mid-1940s].
Size and condition vary. Items 1-2 are in fair-good condition. Item 3 is in fair-poor condition.
