Lebedev Porphiriy Markovich (1882, Bashkiriya-1974, Moscow).
He graduated the Theological Seminary in Samara in 1905, educated in private painting school in Saint-Petersburg. Since 1909 studied at the training courses under A.V. Makovskiy at the Academy of Arts in Saint Petersburg. He lived and worked in Moscow, lectured at the Kremlin Painting School. His works were exhibited at the Unions of “Mobile Arts Exhibitions Association” (1914-1916), “ Live and Work”(1942), “Zhar-Tsvet”(1929), Association of Russia graphics (1920), the Society of Amateurs of Arts in Ufa (1916-1918). He was exhibited in all-union exhibitions in 1930-s. He was subjected to repression in 1937 and was exonerated in 1957. The paintings of the artist are presented in the State Tretyakov Gallery, The State Museum of Revolution, in V.A. Gilyarovskiy’s Museum, in the state Fond of Russian Federation, in M.V. Nesterov Museum in Bashkiriya.
