A scathing letter signed by David Ben-Gurion to the editorial staff of the "Haaretz" newspaper after they published a critique on one of the IDF units. July 26, 1955 (Written while Ben-Gurion was defense minister under Moshe Sharett, who served as prime minister): In his letter, Ben-Gurion writes:"Your newspaper recently published an unjustified criticism on one of the IDF's selected units. All the talkers and writers were disrespectful in a certain unit that for some reason did not want it to be praise - they should stand still and with courtesy in front of its fighters and commanders ...".
