A Hearfelt Letter from R. Reuven Grozovsky and R. Baruch Ber Leibowitz, to R. Eliezer Silver.

A heartfelt letter written by R. Reuven Grozovsky to R. Eliezer Silver of Cincinnati (then Rabbi of Springfield, Mass.). With an additional six handwritten lines by his father-in-law, R. Baruch Ber Leibowitz, Rosh Yeshiva of Kneses Beis Yitzchak of Kaminets.

A beautiful letter with unique content. In it R. Grozovsky writes to R. Sliver wishing him a happy and healthy new year. He then proceeds to ask him when is the best time they can come to Springfield.

Apparently, this letter was written while R. Reuven and R. Baruch Ber were already in the United States on a fundraising mission. We assume so since he continues to write: “It would be best if we can come during the first days [of Sukkos], since we planned about being in Philadelphia for the second days [of Sukkos].

R. Baruch Ber adds an additional few lines, written in his own handwriting with his autograph on verso. Interestingly, he adds the following to his New Year’s blessing: “May Hashem give you merits to be Mechadesh in Torah with tranquility and calm — May this year be a year of Nachas, Pleasure and Wealth, A year of Guelah and Yeshuah”. Indeed a very uncommon and unique statement from a person like R. Baruch Ber Leibowitz.

In very good condition. With fold marks. An additional handwritten line and autograph of R. Leibowitz seen on verso. Written on official letterhead (American letterhead) of R. Baruch Ber.

No place or date given.
