The history of the Imperial Porcelain Factory continued in the art of talented masters of the post-revolutionary period. After 1917, the plant came under the supervision of the People's Commissariat of Education and received a new name - the State Porcelain Factory. With new ideas, new tasks for the plant appeared - a reflection of Lenin's plan of monumental propaganda. In 1918, SV Chekhonin was appointed head of the artistic part of the plant: a graphic artist, an enamel artist, and a ceramist, he became a talented leader. In 1925, in honor of the celebration of the 200th anniversary of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the State Porcelain Factory was named after MV Lomonosov, and the plant's label acquired the famous abbreviation LFZ. Since 1925, a new era began at the plant, which collectors and art critics call the era of the LFZ, a unique period in the history of decorative and applied arts in Russia.
