Prokhorov Konstantin Aleksandrovich (born 1924, Ivanovo).

Honoured Art Worker of the Ukranian Soviet Socialist Republic. Honoured Artist of the Russian Federation.
He studied in the Ivanovo Art College (1940-46) under M. Pyrin, A. Kuznetsov, L. Shervud. In 1948 he graduated from the N. Samokish Simferopol Art College. In 1949-54 he taught in this college, at the same time taking distant education courses in Repin Leningrad Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture. His paintings, Flowering Almond Trees and Artek Bay, exhibited in 1955 in the All-Union Art Exhibition, were given to the Indian Prime Minister, J. Neru and to his daughter, Indira Gandy. In 1955-58, he was the head of the Krym Regional section of the Artists’ Union of the Ukranian Soviet Socialist Republic, since 1989 – the chairman of the military commission of the Moscow section of the Artists’ Union. He had one-man shows in Kiev, Sebastopol, Simferopol, Moscow; in 2002-2005 – in the Lower and Upper Chambers of the Russian Parliament in Moscow, and in the Federation Council. Works by K.A. Prokhorov were acquired by the Ukrainian and Russian Ministries of Culture, and can be seen in Russian and Ukrainian museums. His works are also in many private collections in Russia, Great Britain, Japan, France, Poland, Check Republic, Nigeria, being regularly sold in European Auctions.
