Shemyakin Mikhail Mikhailovich (born 1943, Moscow).

Artist, sculptor. People's Artist of Adygea, Kabardino-Balkaria, Cavalier of the Order of Arts and Literature. Honorary doctorate from the universities of the USA, France, Russia, member of the New York Academy of Sciences. Awards: State Prize of the Russian Federation, gold medal to the “Worthy” of the Russian Academy of Arts, Golden Soffit, Petropol, Golden Mask, Order of Friendship, badge “For Contribution to Russian Culture”. He studied at the School of Art at the Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture named after Repin. Since 1962 he has taken part in exhibitions. In 1967 he founded a group of artists "Petersburg". Personal exhibitions were held in Russia, the USA, France, Germany, Japan, etc. Famous works: monuments to Peter the Great, the architects-first builders of St. Petersburg, "Plato's Dialogue with Socrates", "Royal Walk", Vladimir Vysotsky, victims of terror, sculpture "Cybele", tombstones on the graves of Savely Kramarov, Mikhail Manevich, Anatoly Sobchak, the monument "In Memory of a Forgotten War that Changed the Course of History", sculptural compositions "Man-Clock", "Children - Victims of Adult Vices" and others.
