Author of caricature and satirical works devoted to folk life. People's Artist of Russia, Member of the Union of Artists of Russia. He took part in apartment, all-Union, international exhibitions. Personal exhibitions of the artist were held in Russia, USA, Germany, Denmark. Works by S.Yu. Sorokin are in the Nizhny Novgorod Art Museum, in the Cheboksary Art Museum, in the Boldin Museum-Reserve, in private collections in Russia, Holland, Germany, France, Israel, Australia, USA.
