Engraving on the pedestal. * Yanson-Manizer Elena Aleksandrovna (1890, Petersburg - 1971, Moscow). Sculptor, graphic artist. Honored Art Worker of the RSFSR, Member of the AHRR. She graduated from the architectural courses of E.F. Bagaeva, Polytechnic Institute (1914), PGSHUM (1921), Vkhutemas - Vkhutein (1925). Participated in the sculptural design of the TsPKiO named after C.M. Kirov in Leningrad (1930s), the State Library named after Lenin in Moscow (1930s), underground stations of the Moscow metro ”Dynamo” (1937), ”Serpukhovskaya” (1950), tombstones of ballet dancers V.D. Tikhomirov and L.M. Lavrovsky, actor I.N. Bersenev (1950-60s). Created a series of seven sculptures on the theme of the ballets ”Swan Lake”, ”The Fountain of Bakhchisaray”, ”Romeo and Juliet”, ”Egyptian Nights” (1934-1937). She made figurines for the Leningrad Porcelain Factory (1950s: ”Seated Kettlebell”, ”Kettlebell with a Cloak”, ”Zarema with a Mirror”, ”Zarema with a Dagger”, ”Mary Seated”, ”Mary with a Scarf” and others). Also she known for the series of busts of Soviet writers dating back to 1934. Since 1925 - a participant in various exhibitions, personal exhibitions were held in Moscow, Leningrad.
