Kharkevich-Khrapovitsky Ivan Ivanovich (1913 - 2007) Soviet artist, graphic artist, illustrator, poster artist. In 1927-1929 he studied drawing in the studio of Professor Savitsky. In 1934 he graduated from the Leningrad College of Fine Arts for Working Youth, studied with G.N. Traugot. Took lessons from N.A. Tyrsa. Since 1937 he collaborated with the magazines ”Chizh” and ”Koster”, worked with the publishing house ”Detgiz”. Since 1940 - participant in city, republican and all-Union exhibitions. In 1939 he participated in the creation of the first posters of ”Boyevoy Karandash”. During the war he served as a front-line artist in the Riga editorial office of ”Friend of the Soldier”. After the war, he continued to work in children's publishing houses and ”Boyevoy Karandash”. The artist's works are presented in the art collection of the State Memorial Museum of the Defense and Siege of Leningrad, the State Museum of the History of St. Petersburg, the Exhibition Center of the St. Petersburg Union of Artists, as well as in private Russian collections.
