Pakhomov Alexey Fedorovich (1900, Varlamovo village - 1973, Leningrad).  People's Artist of the USSR, full member of the USSR Academy of Arts. Laureate of USSR State Prizes (1946, 1973). He studied in Leningrad at the Stieglitz School (1915-17 and 1921) with V.V. Lebedeva, N.A. Tyrsa, in 1922-1925. in Vkhutein. He taught at the Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture. I.E. Repin and Leningrad (since 1948; professor since 1949). Illustrator of books about children and for children: collaborated in children's magazines - “Chizh”, “Hedgehog”, “Bonfire”. The artist’s works are in the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Russian Museum, and many other museum collections in Russia.
