Mesropyan Bagdasar Avetisovich (1913, Gyumri-2002, Moscow).  Studied at the Yerevan Art College (1928-1930) with M.S. Saryan, G.M. Gyurjana, V.M. Kayfedzhan and at the Moscow Institute of Fine Arts (1931-1938) with V.A. Favorsky, N.N. Kupreyanova, L.A. Bruni, P.Ya. Pavlinova, K.N. Istomina. Member of the Union of Artists of the USSR since 1940. An outstanding draftsman, illustrator of several dozen books by contemporary authors of the North Caucasus and Armenia (in particular, ten books by Rasul Gamzatov). More than 60 postcards with paintings and graphic works by the author were published in the USSR. Since 1929, he has participated in Moscow, all-Union, and foreign (Bulgaria, Germany, England, Ethiopia, Somalia, etc.) art exhibitions. Personal: 1979, Moscow.
