Volkov A.V. - The first of September.. Year:  1951 Technique:  Oil on canvas. Size:  89.5x69.5. Volkov Anatoly Valentinovich (1908 - 1985). Artist, graphic artist, book illustrator, master of satirical drawing. Member of the Union of Artists of the BSSR since 1940. Exhibition activities began with the First All-Belarusian Exhibition in 1925. After the liberation of Belarus, he began collaborating with the satirical poster-newspaper “Let’s Crush the Fascist Reptile” (1944-1945). Later with the Belarusian satirical magazine “Vozhyk”, where he worked until the last days of his life. He was one of the founders of the children's magazine ”Vyaselka”. His canvas “September 1”, which was published more than once in textbooks, brought widespread fame. He illustrated Belarusian classics, children's books (Belarusian folk tales) and other Belarusian publications.
