Savitsky G.K. - On the Yalta highway.. Year:  1939 Technique:  Oil on canvas. Size:  66,5х55,5. Savitsky Georgy Konstantinovich (1887, St. Petersburg - 1949, Moscow). Born in 1887 in St. Petersburg. In 1902-1908 he studied at the Penza Art School with his father, the artist K.A. Savitsky, N.K. Grandkovsky, A.F. Afanasyeva. In 1908-1915 he studied at the Academy of Arts with V.E. Makovsky, F.A. Rubo. Since 1913 he participated in exhibitions. Exhibitor of the exhibitions “Association of Independents”, “Association of Traveling Art Exhibitions”, Society named after. Kuindzhi. One of the organizers of the Association of Artists of Revolutionary Russia (AHRR). In 1947-1949 he taught at the Moscow State Art Institute. V.I. Surikova. Full member of the USSR Academy of Arts (since 1949). Died in 1949 in Moscow. He participated in more than seventy different exhibitions, and had three personal exhibitions of the artist in Moscow (1928, 1941, 1944). The works of G. K. Savitsky are in the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Russian Museum and many regional museums.
