Kamanin S.M. - Junction of the Oka and the Volga.. Year: 1948 Technique: Oil on canvas. Size: 45x60. Kamanin Sergei Mikhailovich (1915-2002). Honored Artist of the RSFSR (1968). Professor (1969). Painter. He studied at the Yaroslavl Art School (1932-1935), the Moscow Art School in Memory of 1905 (1936-1939), at the art department of VGIK (1939-1943) with F.S. Bogorodsky. Thesis work at VGIK - design sketches for the film “Boris Godunov” (supervisor B.V. Dubrovsky-Ekshe). Participant of exhibitions since 1947. Personal exhibitions took place in 1956 (Chkalovsk, Nizhny Novgorod region), 1957, 1959, 1966, 1974 and 1983 (Moscow), 1962 and 1963 (Tula). In 1960 he participated in the exhibition “Soviet Russia” in Moscow. He taught at the art department of VGIK since 1943 (since 1969 - professor). The artist’s works are presented in the State Tretyakov Gallery, the Gorky Art Museum, the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, private collections in Russia and abroad.
