In his works he proceeded from the best traditions of Russian national painting, combining the lyrical landscape principle with an epic perception of nature. He graduated from the Leningrad Art School, where he studied with M. Aslamazyan and V. Oreshnikov (1939). Immediately Immediately after graduating from college, he went to the front. Demobilized in 1943 due to injury, he settled in Moscow and quickly came into contact with the artists of the capital. His landscapes received recognition from S. Gerasimov, P. Sokolov-Skal and V. In 1951, at the All-Union Art Exhibition, his painting “Spring is Ringing” received wide resonance. He also participated in all-Union exhibitions in 1954 and 1957. Among the artist’s forest landscapes, the most famous is his painting “The Thousand-Year Oak, ” in which the legacy of the great Russian landscape painter I.I. is revealed in a new way. Shishkina.
