Lebedev P.M. - Students on Sparrow Hills.. Year:  1960s Technique:  Watercolor on paper. Size:  11x30. Lebedev Porfiry Markovich (1882, Bashkiria -1974, Moscow). After graduating from the Samara Theological Seminary in 1905, he studied at a private drawing school in St. Petersburg. Since 1909, he attended pedagogical courses under the guidance of A.V. Makovsky at the Academy of Arts in St. Petersburg. Lived and worked in Moscow, taught drawing classes at the Kremlin school. Exhibited at exhibitions of the associations TPHV (1914-1916), “Life-Creativity” (1924), “Fire-Color” (1929), the Association of Russian Graphic Artists (1920s), and the Ufa Society of Painting Lovers (1916-1918). Exhibited at all-Union exhibitions in the 1930s. He was repressed in 1937 and rehabilitated in 1957. The artist’s works are in the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Museum of the Revolution, the Museum of V.A. Gilyarovsky, in the State Fund of the Russian Federation, in the Bashkir Museum of M.V. Nesterova.
