Reuther M.G. - Theatre Square.. Year:  1956 Technique:  Autolithography, watercolor, artist's coloring. Size:  40x50. Roiter Mikhail Grigorievich (1916 - 1993) Graphic artist, book illustrator. He studied at the workers' faculty of the Kyiv Art Institute, and in 1937 he entered the Central Studio of Fine Arts of the All-Russian Central Council of Trade Unions, where his teachers included Konstantin Yuon and Nikolai Romadin. In 1939, on the recommendation of I. Grabar, he was enrolled in the 3rd year of the Faculty of Graphics. In 1946, upon completion of his studies, he was accepted into the Union of Artists of the USSR, and in 1947 he took part in an exhibition at the First World Festival of Democratic Youth and Students in Prague, where he was awarded an honorary diploma for his illustrations. One of the artist’s favorite themes was sports. He participated in all specialized All-Union exhibitions dedicated to sports. Many of the author’s works of the 1950s and 1960s are dedicated to athletes and Soviet youth. Reuter tried himself in various graphic techniques. He drew with a pen, worked in the techniques of monotype, linocut and lithography, achieving particular success in etching. The artist’s works are in many regional museums, as well as in private collections in Russia and abroad.
