Volkov N.N. - Moscow Canal. Bridge.. Year:  1950s Technique:  Pencil, watercolor on paper. Size:  28x59.2. Volkov Nikolai Nikolaevich (1897, Moscow-1974, Moscow). Graphic artist and art theorist. He studied at Moscow (1914-1922) and Freiburg (Germany) universities (1925-1926). Participant of exhibitions since 1933. Member of the USSR Union of Artists since 1937. Honored Artist of the RSFSR. Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences. He is known as a scientist who wrote fundamental works: “Perception of an Object and a Drawing” (1950), “Composition in Painting”, “Color in Painting”, “Thoughts on Art”. The works are in the State Tretyakov Gallery, the Pushkin Museum, and the Military Medical Museum in St. Petersburg. N. Volkov's watercolors were repeatedly exhibited at foreign exhibitions in Brussels, the GDR, Finland and other countries.
