Obrosov I.P. - Evening on the Nerl.. Year:  1980s Technique:  Oil on canvas. Size:  31x51. Obrosov Igor Pavlovich (1930, Moscow - 2010, Moscow). Soviet and Russian artist, painter, teacher. Full member of the Russian Academy of Arts (1997). People's Artist of the RSFSR (1983). Laureate of the USSR State Prize (1989) and the State Prize of the Russian Federation (2000). A bright representative of the “severe style”. In 1954 he graduated from the Moscow Higher Art and Industrial School. Winner of the International Graphic Biennale in Norway for his series of graphic works “The Village Where I Live” (1974). In 1983, for the triptych “Dedicated to the Defenders of Moscow” he received a gold medal named after. M B. Grekova. In 1995 - 1997 - Head of the Department of Monumental and Decorative Art at the Moscow State University of Art and Industry named after. S. G. Stroganova. Full member of PAX (1997). Since 1999 - member of the PAX Presidium. The author's personal exhibitions were held at the State Russian Museum, in museums and galleries in Belgium, Germany, Canada, and the USA. The artist’s works are in the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Russian Museum, the Russian Academy of Arts and other museums, as well as in private collections in Russia and abroad.
