* Velikhova S.B. - Lenin in his childhood.. Year: 1950s Technique: Overglaze painting, gilding on porcelain. Size: h-14,8. Velikhova Sofya Borisovna (1904–1994). Sculptor, artist of decorative arts. Member of the Union of Artists of the USSR. She studied at the Higher Art and Technical Institute (VKHUTEIN) with such recognized masters as R. R. Bach and A. T. Matveev. Sofia Velikhova’s graduation work was the sculpture “M. V. Frunze on horseback.” Since 1948 she worked at the Leningrad Porcelain Factory. Many of the sculptor's works were produced in large quantities and widely distributed. S. Velikhova's works were exhibited at exhibitions in Hungary, India, and Czechoslovakia. She participated in the All-Union Art Exhibition “40 Years of the Komsomol” (1958), an exhibition of works by women artists in Moscow for the 50th anniversary of International Women’s Day (1960).
