Plavinsky D.P. - Untitled.. Technique:  Etching. Size:   93х66. Plavinsky Dmitry Petrovich (born 1937, Moscow - 2012, Moscow). He studied at the theater and decoration department of the Moscow Regional Art School in memory of 1905 with V. Shestakov and L. Fedorov (1951-1956). In 1957 he took part in exhibitions of young artists at the Academy of Arts and at the Central Park of Culture and Culture named after. A.M. Gorky, held as part of the VI World Festival of Youth and Students. There he met the future nonconformists Zverev, A.V. Kharitonov, M. Kulakov and was strongly influenced by the American abstractionist Coleman. Since the late 1950s. became one of the organizers of the nonconformist art movement. Exhibited at apartment exhibitions. In 1962, J.P. visited Plavinsky’s workshop. Sartre. Participated in the first exhibition of unofficial art in the Beekeeping Pavilion at VDNKh in 1975. Since 1991 he has lived and worked in New York. The artist’s works are in the State Tretyakov Gallery, the Museum of Contemporary Art of Russia, the Jane Voorhees Zimmerli Art Museum (New Jersey, the USA), and in many collections in Russia and abroad.
