Monten Dietrich, Eckert Heinrich Ambrose. Monten Dietrich (1799–1843) – German historical painter, battle painter, genre painter, engraver and lithographer. From 1821 he studied at the Academy of Arts in Düsseldorf, then at the Munich Academy of Arts under P. von Hess (the creator of a gallery of paintings dedicated to the most important battles of the War of 1812 for the Winter Palace). The works are stored in the Neue Pinakothek, the National Museum of Germany and the Military History Museum in Vienna. Heinrich Eckert Ambrose (1807–1840) – German battle painter. From 1825 he studied at the Munich Academy of Arts, then continued his studies in Tyrol and France. In 1835–1840 together with Dietrich Montaigne and August Schelver, he published about 200 lithographs depicting uniforms of the German army, and then lithographs of scenes of the return of the Russian army from the Foreign Campaign of 1814–1815.
