People's Artist of the USSR (1958). Laureate of the Lenin Prize (1965), five Stalin Prizes (1942, 1947, 1949, 1950, 1951), the USSR State Prize (1975) and the State Prize of the RSFSR named after I. E. Repin (1982). Member of the creative team ”Kukryniksy”. In 1923 - 1929 he studied at the printing department of the Higher Art and Technical Workshops (VKHUTEMAS), where his teachers were N.N. Kupreyanov, P.V. Miturich, P.I. Lvov and P.Ya. Pavlinov. During his studies, he became friends with M.V. Kupriyanov and P.N. Krylov. Created in the mid-1920s, the creative collective “Kukryniksy” existed for more than 60 years. We worked using the method of collective creativity. In addition, everyone also worked individually. Sokolov N.A. known as the author of caricatures and cartoons, as well as illustrations for books created in a cartoon style. The artist’s paintings are in the collections of the State Russian Museum, the State Tretyakov Gallery, private collections and galleries in Russia, Ukraine, England, France, Italy, Germany and other countries.
