Zernova E.S. - Ski propaganda run.. Year:  1931. Technique:  Color autolithograph. Size:  30х40. Zernova Ekaterina Sergeevna (1900, Simferopol - 1995, Moscow). Honored Artist of the RSFSR (1974). One of the brightest representatives of OST. In 1917 she graduated from the art studio of F. Rerberg. In 1919-24 she studied at the State Free Art Workshops with I. Mashkov, and then with A. Shevchenko and D. Shterenberg. In 1925 she participated in the first OST exhibition. In 1928-31 - an active member of this society. She worked as an illustrator and book designer, and made posters. After the split, OST joined the “Izobrigada” - a society that united adherents of the “production theme”. In 1929-33 she participated in exhibitions of the All-Union Society for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries (VOKS). In 1936, Zernova’s first personal exhibition was held in Moscow. In the post-war years, she worked in theater and cinema (together with Yu. Pimenov), and taught at the Moscow Textile Institute. Since the late 1950s, she worked as a muralist (paintings and mosaic panels for an exhibition hall in Yalta, a chemical plant in Salavat, the Institute of Oceanology and the Museum of Anthropology in Moscow, etc.). The works are in the State Tretyakov Gallery, the Museum of Contemporary History of Russia (Moscow), the Astrakhan Art Gallery named after. B. Kustodiev, Museum of Art of Karakalpakstan named after. I. Savitsky (Nukus, Uzbekistan), the National Museum in Warsaw (Poland), as well as in the private collections of Reynolds Johnson and Matthew Bone.
