Graduated from the I.E. Repin Leningrad State Institute of Painting, Sculpture, and Architecture of the USSR Academy of Arts in 1962. He worked in genre painting and landscapes. He created several paintings dedicated to the Great Patriotic War. In 1962-1963 he taught at the Gorky Art School. Member of the Union of Artists of the RSFSR since 1970. Since 1962 – participant in regional art exhibitions. Exhibitor of the zonal exhibition (”Big Volga” 1967, 1970, 1974, 1985, 1991, 1998, 2003), as well as all-Russian (Moscow 1999, 2000) art exhibitions. The artist's solo exhibition was held in Nizhny Novgorod in 2002.
