Honored Artist of Russia (1993). People's Artist of Russia (2001). Winner of the award named after. V.K. Byalynitsky-Birul (2002). Honorary citizen of Kolomna (2003). Since 1964 he studied at the Moscow Art and Industrial School. M.I. Kalinina. In 1971 he entered the VGIK art department in the workshop of professors I.A. Spinel and G.A. Myasnikov. In 1977-1983 worked at the Creative Painting Workshop of the USSR Academy of Arts under the direction of A.P. and S.P. Tkachev, as well as A.M. Gritsaya. Participant of Moscow, republican, all-Union and foreign exhibitions since 1975. In 1985 and 1987 was awarded diplomas from the USSR Academy of Arts. In 1995 he was awarded the gold medal of the Russian Academy of Arts. Member of the Union of Artists of the RSFSR since 1980. Personal exhibitions were held in Kolomna (1982), in Moscow (1989,1993, 1995, 1996, 1998, 2002, 2004), in many other cities of Russia, as well as in Rome (Villa Abamelek, 2000), in Naples (2001) and Paris (2003, 2004). Works are in the State Tretyakov Gallery, in the Moscow Museum of Modern Art, in many regional museums, as well as in private collections in Russia and abroad.
