Grabar All-Russia Art Scientific Centre of Restoration. Andronov Nikolai Ivanovich (1929, Moscow - 1998, Moscow). Soviet painter, monumentalist, teacher. People's Artist of the Russian Federation (1996). Laureate of the USSR State Prize (1979). Full member of the Russian Academy of Arts. One of the founders of the “severe style”. From 1948 to 1952 he studied at the Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture. I.E. Repin, after moving to Moscow he studied at the Moscow State Art Institute. V.I. Surikov until 1954. Andronov N.I. being a master of easel painting and monumental art, he created mosaics for the facade of the Oktyabr cinema and the Izvestia publishing house. Since 1958, he has been a regular participant in international exhibitions. The artist’s works are in the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Russian Museum, in many Russian museums, in museums in Cologne, Vienna, London, as well as in private collections.
