Gluskin Alexander Mikhailovich (1899, Odessa - 1969, Moscow). He worked in the traditions of the South Russian school of painting. In the 1920s he was close to the creative search of the Russian avant-garde. He graduated from the Odessa Art School, where he studied with Yu. Bershadsky and K. Kostandi (1918-21). He was closely associated with young writers - E. Bagritsky, Y. Olesha, I. Ilf and I. Babel. In 1919 he made his debut at the “First People's Exhibition” held in Odessa. A special page in Gluskin’s work was his participation in “Windows of YugROST”. In 1921 he moved to Moscow. He took an active part in organizing the group “NOZH” (New Society of Painters). In 1924-28 - member of the Genesis society. Participant of all-Union art exhibitions. His personal exhibitions were held in 1955 and 1968 in Moscow. The artist's works are in the collection of the State Tretyakov Gallery.
