Zagonek Vyacheslav Frantsevich (1919, Irkutsk - 1994, St. Petersburg). People's Artist of the RSFSR. Honored Artist of the RSFSR and Honored Artist of the RSFSR, full member of the USSR Academy of Arts, laureate of the State Prize of the RSFSR. I.E. Repina. He studied at the Leningrad Art School (1936-39), at the Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture. I.E. Repin (1945-50). The thesis was carried out under the guidance of B.V. Ioganson. Participant of exhibitions since 1939. Personal exhibitions were held in 1966 (Leningrad, Moscow), 1970 (Saratov, Izhevsk, Kazan), as well as in Warsaw (1965). The artist’s works are stored in the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Russian Museum and many regional museums.
