Belyutin Eliy Mikhailovich (1925-2012) Russian artist and art theorist, one of the leaders of unofficial art. He received his higher art education at the Moscow Art Institute (1942–1947), his teachers were A.V. Lentulov, P.V. Kuznetsov, L.A. Bruni. Then he studied in graduate school at the Department of Painting and Drawing of the Moscow Pedagogical Institute, and since 1950 he has taught in various educational institutions and studios. Since 1954, he directed the Experimental Studio of Painting and Graphics, created under the city association of book and graphic artists. As a historian of painting, he published the books “The Pedagogical System of the Academy of Arts of the 18th Century” (1956), “The Russian Art School of the First Half of the 19th Century” (1963). In November 1962, he took part in organizing an exhibition in the Manege dedicated to the thirtieth anniversary of the Moscow branch of the Union of Artists of the USSR. On December 1, 1962, N.S. visited this exhibition. Khrushchev, who was outraged by avant-garde works. This scandal made E.M. Belyutin became famous, his paintings began to be exhibited abroad. In 1970 he became a member of the Italian Academy of Modern Art. The artist’s works are in the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Russian Museum, the Center Georges Pompidou (Paris, France), in many regional museums, as well as in private collections in Russia and abroad.
