Representative of carnivalism - a movement in Soviet painting of the 1970-1980s, which, through the means of surrealism, reinterprets the canons of socialist realism. In 1962 she graduated from the secondary art school at Moscow State Art Institute. V.I. Surikova, in 1962–1968 she studied at the Moscow State Art Institute under D.D. Zhilinsky. She regularly participated in exhibitions, including youth ones, and since 1984 she has exhibited her things in the West (starting from Germany). She was greatly influenced by primitivism and “naive art” (especially the painting of N. Pirosmanashvili); among her contemporaries, T.G. had a noticeable influence on her early style. Nazarenko. In the first half of the 1970s, she gained fame for her images that parodied the graphic cliches of thematic paintings of socialist realism and emphasized the absurdity of Soviet reality. The artist’s works are in the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Russian Museum, the Museum of Fine Arts in Montreal, the Guggenheim Museum in New York, and in many large collections of contemporary art.
