Ermolin R.N. - Spring.. Year: 1968. Technique: Oil on canvas. Size: 50х90. Ermolin Rem Nikolaevich (1926, Leningrad - 2004, Syktyvkar). People's Artist of the RSFSR, People's Artist of the Komi ASSR, laureate of the State Prize of the Komi ASSR. Since 1970 - Chairman of the Board of the Union of Artists of the Komi Republic. He studied at the art studio of Syktyvkar, then at the art and graphic department of the Leningrad Pedagogical School (1947-1951). From 1954 to 1960 studied at the painting department of the Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture. I.E. Repin at A.A. Mylnikova, B.S. Ugarova, V.M. Oreshnikova. In 1960 he moved to Komi. Since 1957, he painted for the satirical magazine ”Chushkanzi” in Syktyvkar. The author of paintings in a realistic manner on themes from the life of the North (“Ust-Tsilma cycle”). The central painting of the cycle was awarded a diploma from the USSR Academy of Arts in 1975. Participant in exhibitions since 1957. Ermolin’s works were exhibited at foreign exhibitions in Germany (1962, 1972), Poland (1971), Czechoslovakia, Romania, Mongolia (1972), Bulgaria (1978), and Japan (1973). The artist's personal exhibitions were held in Syktyvkar (1977, 1985), Moscow (1976) and Lovech (Bulgaria, 1984). Works by R.N. Ermolina are in the Museum of the Academy of Arts in St. Petersburg, in the Republican Art Museum of the Komi ASSR and other museums.
