Nikonov M.F. - Phantasmagoria.. Year:  1980. Technique:  Oil on canvas. Size:  200х150. Nikonov Mikhail Fedorovich (1928–2010). One of the founders of the “severe style” in painting. In 1940-1947 he studied at the Moscow Art School. In 1953 he graduated from Moscow State Art Institute, workshop of V. Efanov. A regular participant in regional and all-Union exhibitions since 1953. Personal exhibitions were held in Moscow (1987), London (1989). In 1957 he was admitted to the Union of Artists. The artist’s works are in the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Russian Museum, regional museums and in private collections in Russia and abroad.
