Connected with the Pushkin Goncharov family (great-great-great-granddaughter of the poet’s wife). In 1901-1909 attended the Moscow School of Art and Culture, studied sculpture in P.P.’s class. Trubetskoy, then moved to the painting class of K.A. Korovina. In 1900 she met the artist M.F. Larionov, who became her husband. She was a member and exhibitor of the associations ”Jack of Diamonds”, ”Donkey's Tail”, and ”Youth Union”. She was greatly influenced by P. Gauguin. All the diversity of cultural and artistic movements of the early 20th century was reflected in the work of N.S. Goncharova. The impressionistic features of her early works are replaced by a passion for Fauvism, then Russian Futurism and “Rayism” invented by her husband. In 1907-1911 In the artist’s work, new avant-garde trends were combined with the tradition of lubok, painted signs and other types of iso-folklore. Goncharova did a lot of design work for publications of futurist poets and worked in the theater. At the invitation of S.P. Diaghilev, participated in “Russian Seasons”. In 1919, together with M.F. Larionov left Russia and settled in Paris. She worked mainly in the theater, designing productions of S.P.’s enterprise. Diaghilev. Most of the creative heritage of N.S. Goncharova is in the State Tretyakov Gallery, her work is presented in the State Russian Museum, in exhibitions of art of the 20th century. all over the world.
