Tyshler Alexander Grigorievich (1898, Melitopol - 1980, Moscow). Soviet painter, graphic artist, theater artist and sculptor, Honored Artist of the Uzbek SSR (1943), winner of the Stalin Prize of the second degree (1946) for the design of the play ”Freilehs” Z. He was awarded the Order of the Badge of Honor (1939). He studied at the Kiev Art College (1912-1917), then at the studio of Alexandra Exter (1917-1918), and after demobilization from the army he entered VKhUTEMAS, where he studied in the workshop of Vladimir Favorsky (since 1921). Participated in numerous exhibitions, including personal ones: in Tashkent (1943), Leningrad (1956 and 1981), Moscow (1964; 1966; 1969, 1974 and 1978; 1988), as well as in the Museum of Personal Collections on Volkhonka. Tyshler's works are kept in the State Tretyakov Gallery, the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts, the Volkhonka Museum of Personal Collections, the I. N. Kramskoy Voronezh Regional Art Museum, the Melitopol Museum of Local Lore, as well as in private collections and museum collections in Russia and abroad.
