Shponko G.A. - The Black Sea coast.. Technique:  Oil on cardboard. Size:  50х60. Descripton:  Signed lower left. The work comes from the collection of the Gekkosho Gallery (Japan). Grigory Andreevich Shponko (1926, village of Balki, Zaporizhia region — 2005) Soviet painter, member of the Union of Artists of the Ukrainian SSR. He studied at the Republican Art Secondary School in Kiev, then at the Kiev State Art Institute (graduated with honors in 1954) in the battle history workshop under the direction of K. D. Trokhimenko, M. A. Sharonov, K. M. Yeleva, G. S. Melikhov. He participated in the restoration of the Sevastopol panorama under the direction of P. P. Sokolov Skal, in the painting of the main pavilion of VDNH under the direction of M. G. Deregus, as well as in many international, All-Union and republican exhibitions in Ukraine and Russia. His works are in museum collections in the CIS countries and in private collections in Japan, France, England, the USA, Korea, Spain, Hungary, Poland, and the Czech Republic.
