Laureate of the State Prize of the RSFSR named after. I. E. Repin (1968). Member of the Union of Artists of the USSR since 1954. Corresponding member of the USSR Academy of Arts. In 1939 – 1945 studied at the Moscow Secondary Art School at the Moscow State Art Institute. V.I. Surikov at V.V. Pochitalova, P.T. Koshevoy, S.P. Mikhailova. In 1951 he graduated from the painting department of the State Art Institute named after. V.I. Surikov, where he studied with D.K. Mochalsky, G.K. Savitsky, V.V. Pochitalov. He devoted his work to rural themes and was one of the creators of peasant still life in Russian art of the 20th century. In 1967 he was awarded a silver medal of the USSR Academy of Arts for a number of works created during the period 1964-1967. In 1968, the artist was awarded the title of laureate of the State Prize of the RSFSR named after I. E. Repin for works created during the period 1960-1967. In 1966 he participated in the XXXIII international exhibition “Venice Biennale”. In 1972-1974. The artist’s personal traveling exhibition of paintings was held in the cities of Syktyvkar, Arkhangelsk, Kirov, Izhevsk, Gorky, Kuibyshev, Ulyanovsk, Astrakhan, Kostroma, Ryazan, Bryansk, Kalinin, Tula, Kaluga, Smolensk. Works by Stozharov V.F. presented in the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Russian Museum and many other museums in Russia and abroad.
