People's Artist of Russia, Laureate of the State Prize named after I.E. Repina. Studied with S.P. Sokolov, student of I.I. Shishkin and M.K. Klodt. He continued the best traditions of Russian landscape. For a series of landscapes near Moscow: “Borodino - Field of Russian Glory”, “On the Prioksky Plains”, “October” and “The Last Snow” by A.P. Polyushenko was awarded the State Prize of the RSFSR named after I.E. Repin, and in 1981 he was awarded the high title of People's Artist of the RSFSR. The works are in the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Russian Museum, in many regional museums, as well as in private collections in Russia and abroad.
