Sretensky G.A. - Still life with vegetables.. Year: 1953. Technique: Oil on canvas. Size: 45х65. Sretensky Grigory Alexandrovich (1899, Moscow - 1972, Moscow). A painter, landscape painter and genre painter, member of the Moscow branch of the Union of Artists of the RSFSR (since 1932), in 1961 he was elected a member of the Board of the Moscow Art Museum, in 1962 — executive secretary of the Audit Commission of the Moscow Art Museum. He studied at Moscow University, then at a private art studio and at the Higher Art and Technical Workshops (VKHUTEMAS) under P. P. Konchalovsky (graduated in 1925), and also graduated from the Moscow Theological Seminary. Since 1918 he participated in exhibitions. In 1921-1925 he was a member of the art association ”Genesis” (one of its organizers), in 1927-1932 he was a member of the Association of Artists of Revolutionary Russia (AHRR). Participated in the group exhibition ”Artists of the RSFSR for 15 years” (Moscow, 1933), a solo exhibition in Moscow (1962), posthumous group exhibitions: in Moscow in 1973, at the Moscow Museum of Modern Art (together with Nina Stenshinskaya, 2008), at the gallery on Chistye Prudy (2011) and at the Center contemporary art ”M'ARS” (2012). In the 1930s, he was engaged in the design of festivals and city holidays in Moscow. Sretensky's works are represented in the State Tretyakov Gallery (Moscow), the State Russian Museum (St. Petersburg), regional museums of Russia, as well as in private collections in Russia and abroad.
