Grigoriev, Aleksandr Efimovich (1949, Leningrad - 2025, Moscow) Russian and Soviet artist, member of the art group ”Dvizhenie” (Movement), master of kineticism and op art. Graduated from the Faculty of Architecture at the Leningrad Institute of Civil Engineering. In 1966, he began working at the Leningrad Zonal Research and Design Institute of Standard and Experimental Design (LenZNIIEP). In 1967, he participated in the creation of the kinetic model ”Cyber Event” for the design of Leningrad and constructed his first spatial kinetic objects. In 1968, as part of the ”Dvizhenie” (Movement) group, he developed the design for the ”Orlyonok” (Orlyonok) pioneer camp in the North Caucasus. Since 1973, he has worked in book graphics. From 1973 to 2005, he worked as a freelance graphic artist for the Znanie publishing house. He regularly participated in exhibitions organized by the City Committee of Graphic Artists, the Vernissage association, and exhibitions dedicated to kinetic art. In 2023, the Moscow Museum of Modern Art hosted a large-scale solo exhibition, ”Alexander Grigoriev. On Transparency: Optical Media. Roman Babichev Collection.” The artist's works are represented in the collections of the State Tretyakov Gallery, the Moscow Museum of Modern Art, the Kunstmuseum Bochum (Germany), and in Russian private collections.
