Honored Artist of the RSFSR (1987), People's Artist of Russia (1995), Member of the Union of Artists of the USSR (1950), winner of the State Prizes of the RSFSR (1991) and Russia (1992), holds the silver medal of the Academy of Arts of the USSR (1991). Member and one of the founders of the Vladimir School of Landscape Painting art group. He studied at the Ivanovo Art College (1940) and the Lviv Art Institute (1948). Participated in most major domestic exhibitions of the second half of the 20th century. The artist's works are in museums and private collections in Russia (the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Museum of Fine Arts, the State Vladimir-Suzdal Museum-Reserve, 63 regional museums) and many countries around the world.
