Antique Patented Barrel Butter Churn - An antique barrel-style butter churn. The apparatus is constructed from stained hardwood staves secured by dark metal hoops, resting on a wooden base. The horizontal barrel body supports a squared box assembly at the top, fitted with a hinged wooden lid. Internally, the churn features a functional wooden paddle or cage mechanism. A cast iron crank assembly is affixed to one circular end panel for operation. The opposite end panel features an oval metal plaque.
