Adams China Blue and White Chinese Bird Pattern Bowl - A single ceramic bowl manufactured by Adams China in the popular Chinese Bird pattern. This piece features extensive underglaze blue decoration in the Chinoiserie style. The interior walls are dominated by a dense, overall tessellated or cellular pattern, often referred to as cracked ice or fish scales. This field is interrupted by large, irregular cartouches containing detailed figural and architectural scenes depicting traditional Chinese narratives. The exterior surface displays a continuous central frieze of similar figural narratives and landscapes, bounded above and below by scrolling and geometric borders. The bowl form is deep and rounded.
