Early 20th Century Oak Sewing Box Work Table - An Early 20th Century sewing box work table constructed of dark-stained oak hardwood. The table features a rectangular box body supported by four square, tapered legs and a hinged lid secured by brass hardware. The interior of the lid is padded, tufted, and lined with a golden-yellow satin or silk fabric bordered by decorative woven trim. Resting on the interior lining are a collection of 4 packages of vintage sewing notions, including one labeled ”SEWING SUSAN” and ”AN ARRAY OF EYE NEEDLES WITH THREADERS.” The main storage compartment is filled with miscellaneous sewing materials, mostly packaged in plastic, including one bag bearing partial French text regarding ”rubans” (ribbons).
