Early 19th Century Regency Mahogany Drop-Leaf Sofa Table - A drop-leaf sofa table, attributed to the English Regency period, early 19th century, constructed primarily of mahogany or a similarly dark hardwood. The rectangular top features a fixed center section flanked by two hinged drop-leaves. The apron contains two functional drawers, each fitted with a pair of circular metal pulls, totaling four pulls visible on the drawer faces. The table is supported by two highly carved, tapering upright supports featuring acanthus leaf and foliate relief carving. The supports transition into projecting legs terminating in metal paw feet. The base features an H-form stretcher structure composed of two turned stretchers. The center fixed section of the tabletop shows evidence of a circular inlay or marquetry detail, which is heavily faded. No visible maker's marks or inscriptions were observed.
